Being entirely self-taught (by trying to copy Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, Charley's War and suchlike) my initial efforts were a bit shit. But I persevered, and my later drawings were passable. I wouldn't have made it onto the staff roster at 2000AD, but I was quite happy with my progress. Indeed, I was good enough by then to contribute my own comic strip Bastard Brigade to the fledgling (and short-lived) British comic FADOOOM!<\/p><p>By the mid-90s I'd become reasonably proficient at it, but then I discovered DPaint on the Amiga and my art suddeny went in a completely different direction. <br \/><br \/>Fast forward to 2016 (or thereabouts) and I rediscovered my love for pen and ink creations whilst mucking around on Adobe Illustrator and Wacom tablet with a pressure-sensitive pen.<br \/><br \/>Since then I've created a whole bunch of stuff, including these one-offs. They're all one-page pen and ink (Illustrator's blob brush, actually) creations inspired by lines from some of my favourite songs. As an idea, I think they work very well.
